Secured Loans and Unsecured Loans Explained

There are two basic categories that most loan types fall into – Secured and Unsecured.

Secured Loan
Secured loans are those loans that are protected by an asset or collateral of some sort. The item purchased, such as a home or a car, can be used as collateral, and a lien is placed on such item. The finance company or bank will hold the deed or title until the loan has been paid in full, including interest and all applicable fees. Other items such as stocks, bonds, or personal property can be put up to secure a loan as well.

Secured loans are usually the best (and only) way to obtain large amounts of money. A lender is not likely to loan a large amount with assurance that the money will be repaid. Putting your home or other property on the line is a fairly safe guarantee that you will do everything in your power to repay the loan.

Secured loans are not just for new purchases either. Secured loans can also be home equity loans or home equity lines of credit. Such loans are based on the amount of home equity, which is simply the current market value of your home minus the amount still owed. Your home is used as collateral and failure to make timely payments could result in losing your home.

Secured loans usually offer lower rates, higher borrowing limits and longer repayment terms than unsecured loans. As the term implies, a secured loan means you are providing "security" that your loan will be repaid according to the agreed terms and conditions. It's important to remember, if you are unable to repay a secured loan, the lender has recourse to the collateral you have pledged and may be able to sell it to pay off the loan.

Examples of Secured Loans:
  •     Mortgage
  •     Home Equity Line of Credit
  •     Auto Loan (New and Used)
  •     Boat Loan
  •     Recreational Vehicle Loan

Unsecured Loan

On the other hand, unsecured loans are the opposite of secured loans and include things like credit card purchases, education loans, or personal (signature) loans. Lenders take more of a risk by making such a loan, with no property or assets to recover in case of default, which is why the interest rates are considerably higher. If you have been turned down for unsecured credit, you may still be able to obtain secured loans, as long as you have something of value or if the purchase you wish to make can be used as collateral.

When you apply for a loan that is unsecured, the lender believes that you can repay the loan on the basis of your financial resources. You will be judged based on the five (5) C's of credit -- character, capacity, capital, collateral, and conditions – these are all criteria used to assess a borrower's creditworthiness. Character, capacity, capital, and collateral refer to the borrower's willingness and ability to repay the debt. Conditions include the borrower's situation as well as general economic factors.

Examples of Unsecured Loans:
  •     Credit Cards
  •     Personal (Signature) Loans
  •     Personal Lines of Credit
  •     Student Loans (note that tax returns can be garnished to repay delinquent student loans)
  •     Some Home Improvement Loans

Why Purchase Structured Settlement !

Structured Settlement is known as an arrangement of financial or insurance meaning that provides the person with regular payments over the course of several years or for the rest of his life. Many types of Structured Settlement like Personal Injury, Wrongful Death and Worker’s Compensation. You can defined as a structured settlement is a financial or insurance arrangement whereby a claimant agrees to resolve a personal injury tort claim by receiving periodic payments on an agreed schedule rather than as a lump sum. Structured settlements were first utilized in Canada after a settlement for children affected by Thalidomide. Structured settlements are widely used in product liability or injury cases (such as the birth defects from Thalidomide). Lets have a look on real life example: A factory worker Jonathon was standing on a ladder installing new hardware for the company. When he slipped and had an untimely death the court had ruled that the factory was negligible in his death. His wife Diane was the recipient of his structured settlement. The factory's insurance company agreed to pay out for the next 30 years, $3,500 a month just above what Jonathon was bringing in at the factory each month.A structured settlement can be implemented to reduce legal and other costs by avoiding trial. Structured settlement cases became more popular in the United States during the 1970s as an alternative to lump sum settlements. The increased popularity was due to several rulings by the IRS, an increase in personal injury awards, and higher interest rates. The IRS rulings changed policies such that if certain requirements were met then claimants could have federal income tax waived. Higher interest rates result in lower present values, hence annuity premiums, for deferred payments versus a lump sum. There is a difference between SS and Structured Settlement Annuity. Please don't mix up.

Structured settlements have become part of the statutory tort law of several common law countries including Australia, Canada, England and the United States. Structured settlements may include income tax and spendthrift requirements as well as benefits and are considered to be an asset-backed security. Often the periodic payment will be created through the purchase of one or more annuities, which guarantee the future payments. Structured Settlement Broker who is also known as an Annuity Broker, is an expert of prepared in arranging a payout plan for a money related settlement Structured issues. Settlement payments are sometimes called periodic payments and when incorporated into a trial judgment is called a “periodic payment judgment."

How to Invest Smartly in Stock Market ?

Here are some tips on how you can make money by investing in Stock Market on a Long Term basis. Personally I have been following these steps to make money.

Firstly, I would like you to learn the terms that follow :

Face Value
It is the Original Cost of a share that goes on the Certificate.

Bonus Shares
New shares are issued to shareholders in proportion to their holdings.

Dividend
A dividend is a payment made by a corporation or company to its shareholders, usually as a distribution of profits.

Stock Split
A stock split or stock divide increases the number of shares in a public company. The price is adjusted such that the before and after market capitalization of the company remains the same and dilution does not occur.

Market Capitalization
Market capitalization is the aggregate valuation of the company based on its current share price and the total number of outstanding stocks. It is calculated by multiplying the current market price of the company's share with the total outstanding shares of the company.

How do you benefit from Bonus Shares ?
When a company is running in profit it might offer to its share holders some extra shares in proportion of their current holding. Therefore, you will more shares of that company without having to invest anything extra.
For example you are holding 100 shares of certain company and it declares a 4:1 Bonus then you will receive 100x4 = 400 new shares without investing anything extra.

How do you benefit from Stock Split ?
When a company announces Stock Split the number of shares increases but the market capitalization remains the same. Thus the volume of shares available for trade increase and also the price of share becomes affordable as the face value is reduced.
For example you are holding 100 shares of certain company and it declares a 1:10 Stock Split then you will receive 100x10 = 1000 new shares of Face Value 1/10 without investing anything extra.

How do you benefit from Dividend ?
As a company makes profits it might announce dividends for it share holders from its profits.
For example you are holding 100 shares of certain company and it declares a 100% Dividend and the Face Value of each share is 10 then you will receive 100x10 = Rs. 1000 on your investment.

The key to earning from Stock Market is Long Term Investment. Thus, follow the above steps and invest smartly in stock market to make money as you could earn from Dividends, Bonus Shares and Stock Splits year after year.

How to Earn Rs. 500 Crores from Rs. 10000 ?

How to Earn Rs. 500 Crores from Rs. 10000 ?

I would like to share with you this true story where a person from a small town made Rs. 500 Crores by investing mere Rs. 10000 over a period of 30 years.

Mohammed Anwar Ahmed, 60, who was a resident of a small town named Amalner in district Jalgaon, Maharashtra. He lost his father in 1980. He received Rs.80,000 as his portion out of the sale proceeds of his farm land.

One day by chance he met a share broker who explained how he could earn money by investing in stocks of a company called Wipro. This is how Mohammed Anwar Ahmed invested Rs. 10000 for purchasing 100 stocks of 100 face value each.

Here is how his initial investment of Rs.10,000 grew to over Rs.500 crores.
He had invested in 100 shares at face value of Rs.100 in 1980. The initial investment was Rs.10,000.

In 1981, the company declared a 1:1 bonus. He now had 200 shares.

In 1985, the company declared 1:1 bonus. He therefore had 400 shares.

In 1986, the company split the share to Rs.10. He thus had 4000 shares.

In 1987, the company declared 1:1 bonus. He hence had 8000 shares.

In 1989, the company announced a 1:1 bonus. Now he had 16,000 shares.

In 1992, the company declared a 1:1 bonus. By now he had 32,000 shares.

In 1995, the company declared a 1:1 bonus. He then had 64,000 shares.

In 1997, the company declared 2:1 bonus. He now held 1,92,000 shares.

In 1999, the company split the share to Rs.2. He now had 9,60,000 shares.

In 2004, the company declared 2:1 bonus. He thus had 28,80,000 shares.

In 2005, the company declared 1:1 bonus. He came to have 57,60,000 shares.

In 2010, the company declared 2:3 bonus. He now had 96,00,000 shares.

The current market price is Rs.500 per share. The shares are valued at Rs.480 crores.

Over the past 33 years, the company regularly paid out dividends and increased them almost every year. Cumulatively he received Rs.118 crores as dividend over the past 33 years. Thus by investing Rs.10,000, Mohammed gained Rs.598 crores.

He is now retired and donates freely to charity from the dividends he receives. His foreign educated children often advice him to sell the shares but he has kept his vow of not selling a single share till Mr.Azim Premji is the working Chairman.

My advice : Choose the Right Stock, Be Patient and Stay Invested for Long Term.

Hope you find this story of Stock Market Investment that yielded high returns over a period of time, interesting and inspiring. I am sharing this story with you because this has inspired me and I have started investing in stock market myself. But before you do that be sure to learn more about Stock Martket Invest from here.

How to make your Blog SEO friendly ?

Today, I would like to discuss with you some of the steps to follow for making your Blog in Blogger SEO friendly for search engines like Google.
It is a must for all of us to be found on the search engines. Search Engine Optimization in itself is a very wide topic. You can not sum up in a post or two. It is a continuous process.
Let's start.

Step #1
Title of your Blog Post
Always remember that the title of your blog post should carry related keywords so that it becomes much easier for search engines to find your post when that keywords are searched for.

Step #2
Adding the right Permalink
Permalink plays a great role in search engine ranking of your post. There are few rules which everyone should follow for Blogspot permalinks:
  • Keep the number of characters in post title to 50
  • Remove Stop words from permalink (Ex: A, an, the)
While writing a blog post, you have an option to edit the permalink. Simply use it to edit your permalink and remove the stop words. A good idea is to just use Keywords in your permalink. (Don’t make it look spammy). While writing blog post, you get option in your right panel to keep it automatic permalink or manual permalink. Simply select manual permalink and edit it according to your wish. Check this screenshot for example.

Step #3
Maintaining Keyword Density
It is a must to maintain good keyword density in your blog posts. Generally 2% density could be considered to be good to serve your purpose of SEO. Never stuff your post with keywords. This could harm the ranking of your page. It is advisable to read your post after completing it and then decide if you could add some keywords somewhere.

Step #4
Use of proper Labels in related posts
You should always remember to make use of labels in your posts in a wider form rather then in narrow category. For example, while you are writing on Google Chrome instead of using browser as labels it is advisable to use Google Chrome Browser or Google Chrome as labels. This would extend your reach when the post is categorized.

Step #5
Post title before the blog title
To make your blog more SEO friendly it is a must that Title of each of your post appears before the title of your blog itself.
This could be achieved as follows :
In the Dashboard of Blogger go to edit Template - HTML - find out code section

Now the individual pages will have post title itself .

As I already told you SEO is not a days work. So, I will keep on writing more on this topic.

Keep reading and stay connected.

How to use your SmartPhone in a smart way ?

Are you really Smarter than your SmartPhone ?

Earlier when the phones were modular, things were a bit slow. Phones were only used for spoken communication. Not much of other activities were conducted through those phones. But, SmartPhone technology has changed the whole scenario. We have switched to MultiTasking levels. But, a straight question that arises in my mind is How well do we use our SmartPhone? Is your Office on SmartPhone  actually and truly effective ?

Let's begin to explore things to learn from your SmartPhone ...

Be sure to have a Strong Signal :
Have you ever experienced a problem updating your Facebook status through your SmartPhone while you are in your office? Were you not able to send an important email? Or Did you fail to connect on WhatsApp when it was most required? This all could be due to weak signals.

The answer to it is always choose the right signal path. Don't just run to try and find a window to catch up with the signal. Growing and maintaining good connection is always a smart idea.

Start a thoughtful Communication :
Don't just waste your time in discussion without any point. Make the best out of your on air time. Always get engaged in a smart communication.

Be precise. Be short. Your discussions should be bulleted mentally. Conversations should be intentional. Much purposeful.

Avoid Power Drain :

Using Wi-Fi and GPS is extremely helpful in our day to day transactions. But these two contribute the most in consuming the battery of your SmartPhone. Likewise, never be dull. Always try to maintain your high spirits.

A positive attitude helps you always maintain a good cordial atmosphere around you and this leads to better relations with your colleagues, friends and relatives. Be charged and stay energized.

Always be updated :
You always keep your SmartPhone updated. That's important so as to use it more effectively. Likewise, if you wish to be in demand then a simple trick to follow is always stay updated.

Avoid obsolescence. Update yourself as needed with continuing education in your field and with a select news feed to keep current on latest trends and developments
